Bedford County to Receive Excellence in Websites Award

BEDFORD, PA—The Bedford County Commissioners were recently notified by the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP) that they will receive the Excellence in Websites Award at CCAP’s annual conference in Gettysburg held August 5-8th.

“It is an honor to receive this award.  Several County employees worked for months to modernize our web presence,” said Commissioner Chairman, Josh Lang. The idea for the new website was driven by public and employee feedback.

The new website gives the public the ability to receive up-to-date notifications when information is posted. The public can subscribe via email or text messaging by going to the e-notify subscribe center. County employees from various County departments serve as content editor’s for the website to help ensure all pages are updated regularly.

The County worked with Joseph Nagrant of Revize Government Websites, a firm that specializes in government website designs, provided a low cost, high return on investment solution to the County. Posting information now takes minutes for editors and finding information is simplified for the public.

“Our goal for this innovative website is to serve as a resource and engagement tool for the public. We will continue to build upon our website and become more efficient at delivering services to the public,” Lang concluded.
